With 2014 officially upon us, services begin anew once again.  This includes information sessions for families interested in learning more about cord blood and cord blood banking, which are provided regularly by Insception Lifebank.

Families can visit one of multiple medical centres to participate in the cord blood education sessions.  There are various sessions at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto every week, though you will be required to call ahead to book an appointment.

Education sessions are also scheduled at 6pm local time inside the Harmony Medical Health Centre in Ottawa, as well as the Rockyview Professional Centre in Calgary.  Cord blood banking sessions are set on predetermined dates, and if any unexpected changes are made to the schedule, those changes will be made available.

Families in the Vancouver area are also welcome to participate in sessions at the Fairmont Medical Building near the centre of the city.  There are currently only four education sessions split between January and February in Vancouver, but efforts are underway to provide more opportunities to learn about cord blood later in the year.  Updates will be made to the schedule as new classes are prepared.

If you are unable to access any of the hospitals for in-person cord blood education sessions, you can register for online classes.  Until May, there will be one online session held each month, and all eager participants can register for the classes from home.  The sessions are each scheduled to begin at 7pm EST, allowing you plenty of time to adjust your schedule if necessary.

Cord blood had a breakthrough year in Canada with the launch of the national cord blood banking program.  These information sessions will help you learn more about cord blood, as well as the differences of donating cord blood with the national program or banking with a family program.
