It seems many celebrities are recognizing the importance of cord blood banking. The latest celebrity couple actively choosing to bank their baby’s cord blood is Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen. Biggs became recognized internationally after starring in the American Pie franchise.
The couple married in 2008, but waited a number of years before deciding to have a child. They confirmed last July that they were expecting their firstborn child, and Sid Biggs was officially welcomed into the world earlier this month on February 15.
Over the course of the pregnancy, Jason and Jenny learned about cord blood stem cells. The couple discovered more about cord blood banking and the potential for cord blood stem cells to improve lives of people diagnosed with blood diseases, or other genetic disorders. With the due date approaching, Jason and Jenny decided that banking Sid’s cord blood was in the best interest of the family.
Jason in particular, is known as a comedic actor who is prone to joking around in many situations. But after the birth of his son, he said that there was nothing to joke about in deciding to bank cord blood.
“Knowing that our baby’s stem cells might be used for our whole family made the decision that much easier.”
Jason and Jenny say they will gladly provide positive testimonies regarding cord blood banking and cord blood stem cells to help other families become cord blood educated.
