Families in and around Ottawa convened at the Ernst & Young Centre this weekend for the Ottawa Baby Show. The event brought together developers of baby toys, food, and clothing along with organizations that attempt to improve the overall health of children – including Insception Lifebank.
The Ottawa Baby Show is one of four major baby and family events being held in different cities across Canada this fall. The event in the nation’s capital was the first of these events, and was used primarily to showcase the latest innovative products for babies or toddlers.
However, there were also many attendees hosting discussions involving children’s health. The Canadian Blood Services hosted a special seminar on both Saturday and Sunday to inform families about the upcoming national cord blood bank that the organization hopes will be up and running by the end of the year.
The cord blood discussions were also very important for Insception Lifebank, which was located at booth 213 on both days. Many families in the Ottawa area chose to bank their baby’s cord blood with Insception Lifebank, including Maisse Houri who banked her baby’s cord blood two months ago. Maisse referred her sister Mona Lockett to Insception Lifebank to make the same decision for her child, and will be credited a $50 Visa gift card as a thank you for the referral.
The next baby show is in Calgary, and begins on October 19. Get ready for Round 2 of baby fun and education!
