Curious to learn more about cord blood and the benefits of cord blood banking?  Families living in Calgary and southern Alberta were treated to a special cord blood education event last week, and a new event is happening for families across Ontario this week.

Tomorrow night on July 22, families in Ottawa can visit the Harmony Medical Health Centre at 152 Cleopatra Drive beginning at 6:00pm EST.  Parents will be informed about cord blood and cord tissue banking, along with detailed points explaining the benefits of both banking options.

The following night on July 23 is another education seminar occurring at 1620 Tech Avenue in Mississauga, which will begin at 6:30pm EST.  In addition to the educational seminar, families may also take a tour of the facility where the cord blood is stored after collection.  Through the tour, you may even have questions answered that you never thought to ask – one of the best benefits of an inside the facility tour.

During the education sessions, you can expect:

·         Presentations providing detailed information about the cord blood banking program

·         An opportunity to speak with a registered nurse who is trained in cord blood collection

·         A chance to meet other parents who are just as curious to learn more about cord blood

Both events are being held in the evenings to provide families with time to attend around their busy daily schedules.  Outside of the live events, families may also register for an online cord blood education seminar, which are available once a month and can be attended from the comfort of your own home.
